Dr. Nada Farooqui, MD
Dr. Nada Farooqui is a board-certified family medicine physician and the founder of Rawq Medicine. She trained at St. Luke's Coventry Family Practice, where she served as Chief Resident, and holds certifications in wound care and hyperbaric medicine, with additional training in lifestyle medicine and menopause and hormone health. She has called Somerset County home with her husband and three children for over a decade — this is home, and her patients are her neighbors.

My approach to care
A relationship, not a transaction
I believe you are the expert on your own body.
You live in it every day. You know when something feels different, when something is wrong, when something has changed — long before any test confirms it. My job isn't to override that knowledge. It's to listen to it, take it seriously, and help you make sense of it.
So much of medicine starts with listening — really listening, not just waiting for your turn to ask the next question on a checklist. In my experience, the diagnosis is almost always sitting right there in what a patient tells me, if I actually slow down enough to hear it. The physical exam, the labs, the imaging — all of that matters, but more often than not, it simply confirms what you already told me.
That's what I mean when I say this is a relationship, not a transaction. I'm here to walk alongside you — to give you honest guidance, lay out your options clearly, and support whatever path makes sense for your body, your life, and your goals. You have autonomy here. Always.
Why Rawq Medicine
The clarity of pure water, once it has settled
The name Rawq comes from Classical Arabic — رَوْق — and describes the moment water becomes fully clear after it has settled. No sediment. No clouding. Just stillness and clarity. It felt like the only name that made sense for the kind of medicine I wanted to practice.
Purity. Stillness. Transparency. That is the kind of care we believe every patient deserves.
I didn't choose direct primary care because it was trendy. I chose it because I couldn't keep practicing medicine the old way — twenty-plus patients a day, seven-minute visits, prescribing based on what insurance would cover rather than what was truly best.
Direct primary care removes all of that. There's no insurance company between us deciding what your visit is worth. You pay a simple monthly membership, and in return you get real access, direct texting, and appointments that last as long as they need to — not as long as a billing code allows.
